Find the passport information that matters to you.
A passport is more than a cover and a set of pages. It can shape where you can go, how long you can stay, and how simple the next application feels. Use the comparison below as a starting point, then get in touch if you need help narrowing your options.
A worldwide destination total is useful context, but your own itinerary is a better starting point. Write down the countries you expect to visit, your reason for travelling and the length of each stay. Someone making short business visits may need different information from a family planning a move or a student preparing for a longer course.
Our passport strength guide explains what rankings can and cannot tell you. A higher score is not a promise that every trip will be simpler, and a comparison does not establish whether you are eligible to hold a particular passport.
Compare the entry conditions behind the headline
Visa-free entry, a visa on arrival and an electronic travel authorisation are different arrangements. Check which category applies to your nationality and journey, whether advance registration is required, and whether your planned activity is permitted. Permission for a short visit should not be treated as permission to take employment or settle.
Look beyond the destination count to passport validity, the document category and the evidence required at the border. Requirements can differ for transit, travelling with children or entering on a one-way ticket. Check the destination’s official immigration or consular guidance before making commitments.
Keep passport eligibility separate from residency
A residence permit and a passport serve different purposes. Obtaining permission to live in another country does not itself make you a citizen or entitle you to that country’s passport. Where a future citizenship route exists, its own eligibility rules and application process still apply.
If your objective is a move rather than a holiday, read our global residency guide. Use the comparison here to organise questions, not as a substitute for checking the rules that apply to your personal circumstances.
Prepare a focused enquiry
When you contact us, explain your current nationality, the destinations you are considering and whether you need travel information, renewal guidance or help understanding a residence route. Include your intended timescale. Do not send passport scans or other identity documents through the general enquiry form; start with a description of the question.
